GRANITE ISLAND FARMHOUSE

The panoramic view of Hurricane Sound from the point of land this house sits on is unbelievable ! You can watch the daily lobstering up close, experience spectacular sunsets, relax on or explore the granite shoreline and observe the sometimes quickly changing weather come in over the water. The original house has pretty much been left in tact, with some of the convenient modern amenities like indoor plumbing, modern kitchen appliances and washing machine, but the old furnishings make you feel like you've stepped back in time. Whatever the house may lack in modern comforts, the location will help you overlook them. You'll find yourself telling time by the ferry and tides rather than the clock on the lower right hand corner of your computer monitor. The house is also just a short walk away from The Basin Trust Preserve, a privately owned property where you are invited to walk the trails and enjoy the tranquility of The Basin and its tidal falls. The house has one full bath on the first floor. With 5 bedrooms: 4 double beds and 1 twin, the house can accommodate 9 guests. Hopefully the new well will be drilled by the summer. If not, the current well, which has been infiltrated with salt water can be showered in, but you'll need to buy drinking water. TV, but no cable, pets are welcome with an additional fee of $100/week. $1500/week.
