“SNIPPERSHINS” ON CARVER’S HARBOR

This popularly photographed home on Carver's Harbor literally sits on the water. Built on a man laid pile of granite and surrounded by water on 3 sides, the spaces between the granite on which it sits fill with the incoming tide. The sound of the tidal falls between the harbor and Carver's pond will lull you to sleep at night and you'll wake to the lobster boats heading out to haul in the morning. Its covered front porch is the perfect place for your morning coffee and drinks in the afternoon. The sunsets are a wonderful way to end your day from your front row seat on the harbor. The name "Snippershins" comes from....; this historic building was once a netting factory? with some of its original stout structural beams exposed. It's grassy yard is bordered by granite retaining walls that drop to the water in the harbor, so if you have young children, perhaps this may not be an appropriate choice for your vacation. The granite pier and dock is a perfect place to launch kayaks, and the use of the dock to tie up your boat is negotiable. The kitchen, which looks out over the harbor and tidal falls has a gas range and dishwasher. The kitchen is not an eat in kitchen and although there is a formal dining room with room for eight, most guests prefer sitting out in the sunroom for meals. The living room has ample comfortable seating with TV/DVD/stereo. There is a bath on the first floor. There are three bedrooms upstairs. The Master bedroom, which overlooks the harbor has a queen size bed, the second bedroom a full size bed and the third bedroom has 2 twins. There is a full bath upstairs. Washer and dryer are both available. $2500/week.
