CHARMING HOUSE ON ROUND THE MOUNTAIN ROAD
OVERLOOKING INDIAN CREEK
Although a little rough around the outside edges, this house
recently got a shot of Botox throughout its interior. The
house sits well back off the road backing up to Ambrust Hill
Park, formerly a working quarry that a caring soul planted
with lots of rhododendrons and mountain laurel. It's a great
place for summer walks. The Summer Bedroom is accessed from
the front porch. Formerly an attached shed, this room was
freshly painted, with batik bedspreads draped from the
ceiling. It has a double futon and 2 wicker rocking chairs
that can easily be moved out to the covered front porch. It
also doubles as the laundry room with washer and ironing
board. This room is a favorite among teens. Through the
front door, you enter the central kitchen. It's a charmer,
reminiscent of old island life, but with new stove and
refrigerator and all new pots, pans, dishes, glassware and
utensils. There is a full bath off the kitchen. The
living/dining room with its large picture window overlooks
Indian Creek, a tidal inlet separating Lane's Island and
Vinalhaven. The downstairs bedroom off the kitchen has a
queen size bed. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one with 2
twins and the other with another queen. All the furnishings
are new or recently refurbished. All the beds have new
linens, bed coverings and pillows. There are several
delightful hooked rugs and throw pillows and lots of
roosters. It's and easy walk to Lane’s Island Nature
Preserve and town. It will sleep 8, TV with VCR (no cable),
radio/CD player, no pets. $950/week.
