THE BASIN HOUSE

This renovated island home with water views from almost every window, is a favorite among summer visitors. There are views of the tranquil waters of The Basin, along with several inlets off of Hurricane Sound and the house backs up to 40 acres of mature woodlands. There is easy access for kayaks and canoes into The Basin. It is tastefully furnished with Maine cottage charm. The large kitchen with all the modern amenities, including a dishwasher, has a large dining table for meals and games in the evenings. The kitchen is open to the family room inviting lots of fun chatter while preparing fresh-out-of-the-ocean lobster for dinner or crab rolls for lunch. (Does it get any better than this?) There is a small living room in front that opens onto a roomy deck that takes in all the views, not to mention the evening sunsets. There is a full bath on the first floor and laundry room with washer and dryer. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, the other with a double. The sleeper sofa in the family room opens to a queen size bed, along with a twin sleeper sofa. Sleeps 6, TV/DVD/cable, no pets. $1050/week.
